This site is meant to share my journey from who I wasn’t to who I am. One thing that has been very helpful is keeping a journal.
I don’t write every day, but I try to be somewhat consistent.
Since I am a techy girl, I use an app across my devices (phone, tablet, computer, etc). Personally I use an app called Obsidian (good starter guide here), but there are a million alternatives. Even Apple Notes (or Google notes) can be a good place to start, One tip I got was to have a single date file for each day of the year. For example, on 15 of January, I will go to the same file and add an entry for this year. this is nice because I can see where I was a year ago. It is a great way to see my progress. (I came out to good friend about a year ago)
In short, it is helpful from a mental health perspective to get thoughts down in a more concrete form, and it can be helpful, when things seem to be moving slowly, or even backwards, to see your actual progress. This is not easy, and giving yourself positive feedback is important.
